A spiritual leader has shared the instant when a man tried to break into his city house of worship during a lethal assault, remarking "I witnessed wickedness, I witnessed animosity".

The spiritual leader mentioned that he and fellow worshippers maintained the doors of Heaton Park synagogue as the assailant was "forcing the gateways, throwing large flower containers, trying everything he was able to to gain entry".

Commending the swift-response of those at the worship center, he remarked: "I observed real heroism, I have to say, and worshippers who hurried to aid others rather than escaping. It was astonishing."

A 53-year-old man, and Another individual, both lost their lives after the assailant hit pedestrians and attacked a person on that day.

The spiritual leader stated that the incident happened before the religious ceremony was in full flow, and afterwards there would have been many of attendees in participation.

He remarked: "Had one individual in especial did not act as quickly as he did and got the doors locked, one can envision what would have occurred."

Recounting how the event unfolded, he stated a number of people kept the entrances secured from the within to ensure the intruder was unable to gain entry.

At some point after the police arrived, the cleric said two additional persons inside the building were hurt.

An individual was killed and another person wounded by officer firing, Greater Manchester Police has stated.

A statement from the force designated the person killed by police as Mr Daulby.

Talking to reporters, the cleric stated he would try his utmost to provide solace to the loved ones of those who died and the broader community.

"We feel anxiety but there is also backing", he said.

"I think and trust that we can give comfort and faith. I am certain very deeply that we should not allow this to beat us".

The government leader and witnesses have commended the cleric and the security guards as "brave individuals" for their deeds.

When inquired if he considered himself as a courageous individual, he answered: "I'm not sure that is correct".

Nonetheless, a bystander at the site said the spiritual leader had stayed composed throughout as he and fellow members directed the congregation to security.

The family of Mr Daulby has also offered praise to their "hero" who died during "the deed of bravery to rescue others".

"The family is stunned by the devastating, abrupt death of such a kind modest man" the tribute added, as the loved ones pleaded for seclusion to mourn.
